Benefits

Uses your own natural tissueNo risk of allergy or rejectionPermanent results in surviving fatDual benefit: contours donor area tooNatural look and feelVersatile — face, breast or body

Lipofilling uses your own natural fat to restore volume, improve contour or rejuvenate the face, hands or body. Fat is harvested by gentle liposuction from a donor area (such as the abdomen or thighs), carefully purified, and then precisely re-injected into the target area.

Because your own tissue is used, there is no risk of allergic reaction, and a proportion of the transferred fat will establish a permanent blood supply and remain long-term. Lipofilling is an elegant, natural way to add volume to the face, enhance the results of breast surgery, or improve body contour.

What to expect

  • Performed under local or general anaesthetic
  • Day case in most instances
  • Some swelling and bruising at both donor and recipient sites
  • Some of the transferred fat is naturally reabsorbed (typically 30–50%) — this is accounted for in the planning
  • Final result visible at 3–6 months
